A bipartisan effort in the House of Representatives has passed with an overwhelming majority regarding how flood insurance premiums work and the bill is likely to impact companies who provide disaster insurance just like the various Florida health insurance companies which will undergo intense changes due to the insurance reforms passed in congress. The flood insurance bill was only voted against by twenty-two people with twenty-one of them being Republicans and one being a Democrat from New York. Although the bill must still be sent to the president for final approval, lawmakers are hopeful that the flood insurance reforms will pass.
